Scams Involving the Federal Reserve Name

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has become aware of numerous COVID-19 themed phishing email scams in which fraudsters are fraudulently impersonating employees of the Federal Reserve System and purporting to offer financial relief programs. The fraudulent emails appear to come from the Federal Reserve System, and reference financial relief programs contained in the CAREs Act including the Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Impact Payments.
